The attic & the air vents

Solo was curled up in some large pink cushions in the attic, deep in thought.
"Darkshadow is up to something." she muttered aloud. "They attacked one of my best warriors this morning. What shall I do if they attack...?"
She turned her head, sharply. Did a noise just come from the air vents? Is someone coming up? she thought to herself.

Solo suddenly realised what the sound was.
"Ateria's still on the roof..." she realised, leaping to the window and up onto the roof to join her.

Solo leapt back through the window and onto the cushions with a soft sigh.

Reedflower jumped in. "I think I could do with some sleep!"

Solo looked at her paws.
"Something makes me uneasy. Will Rosebud be ok out hunting?" she muttered.

"I suppose, she's strong" Reedflower settled herself onto a matress.

Solo sighed. "Maybe."

Reedflower curled up and went to sleep

Ateria curled up tight and made herself as small as possible. "G'dreams then." she said, but stayed awake, watching over them.

Reedflower nodded, and wrapped her tail around herself

Solo narrowed her eyes. She stood up.
"I'm too worried... I'm worried that Rosebud is going to get in trouble with Darkshadow. I'm going to check on her." Without another word, she walked over to the air vent in the corner of the attic and leapt into it, climbing down through it, past the four floors below the attic and out into the open. She bounded off towards the alleyways.

Reedflower looked up.
"If Darkshadow is there, you'll need help!"
She bounded after Solo

Ateria blinked slowly and followed them.

Solo half-dragged herself up the air vents.
"Rosebud..." she muttered. "I hope you are ok..." she looked out of the window and hissed to herself.
"Darkshadow will pay."

Hawkpelt arrived and stayed in the shadows.
"Go to West Avenue if you want to see your friend again"

Then he ran off

Shallow followed after Hawkpelt. "That's right!!" She hissed, running off.

Solo's eyes widened.
"No..." she muttered. "No!"
She turned and half-ran, half-fell down the air vents, before running off towards the alleyways.

Solo leapt into the attic and promtply collapsed on the floor.
"I can't breathe..." she gasped. "Something's wrong with me!"
She raked her clas down the wood and stone on the walls making a painful screeching noise.
"I... I'm having a heart attack..." the realisation hit the she-cat like an arrow hits its prey. I'm always worrying too much and plunging myself into depression. her head was whirling with thoughts. It made me frail, and the recent events have just been the last straw for me.
A thin trickle of blood flowed out of her jaws and onto the dusty carpet.
"No..." she muttered to herself. No, no, no...!

Rosebud walked back into her home. Round the corner she recognized Solo's fur. "Solo" she ran to the cat in high spirits but she saw something was wrong, very wrong. She ran over to the dying cat. She tried to heal her using every ounce of energy in her body to rescue her beloved leader.

"I'm sorry Rosebud... I... I brought this on myself..." Solo coughed up some blood and her eyes started glazing over. "I worried too much... I hope you will succeed me as the new leader... of Mournsong..."
Solo's eyes flickered shut for a few moments.
"I saw a vision flash before my eyes... a kitten is wondering in... our alleyways..."
Solo coughed again and her breathing came to a sudden, shuddering halt.

"I get scared... too much..." she whispered, before she said no more.

"No...I can't" Rosebud wept over the lifeless body of her leader. The closest thing to family she ever had. But she knew she had to carry out her leaders wishes so she made her way to the alleyway.

Rosebud arrived in the vents and turned to the young kitten."Promise me one thing." she asked. "Don't go into the attic"

"Why?" enquired Lolly, curiously.

"Yeah," Ateria hissed. "Why?"
